Yesterday, we were invited to try out the new family-friendly DUKESY Beach Brunch at West 14^th on Palm Jumeirah. I don’t follow media invitations very often I have to say. I only do when I think that it will be fun for Luca. When I am pretty sure that Luca will have a great time.

Well, all I can say is that he had the best time yesterday! So, I thought I’d share with you what we liked about this new family brunch. And why I think we will be back soon (with swim suits and beach towels!).

It’s more than a brunch

The DUKESY Beach Brunch is about food, of course. Go there if you want to enjoy a nice BBQ, some freshly grilled fish and meat, and a selection of Arabic dishes. There’s also a kids’ buffet where the little ones can get colourful pancakes in different shapes (we got a butterfly).

But the DUKESY Beach Brunch is also about football at the beach. About kids splashing around in the kids’ pool and lazy river. And a relaxing sunbath before the sun goes down. While food is served from 1pm to 4pm, you can actually spend the whole day at West 14^th and enjoy beach access from 10am to 6pm! It’s all included in the price. Pool and beach are located just next to the restaurant, which makes it easy to navigate from one to the other. I wish the weather would have been a bit nicer yesterday so that we could have spent the whole day chilling at the pool…and enjoy the amazing view over Marina!

It’s all about the kids

Not only can the kiddies use the kids’ pool and drift along the lazy rivers, they can also jump around on the bouncy castle and enjoy the play area with jungle gym swings and climbing frames. Or watch a kids movie inside (we had Toys Story and Ice Age 😉 ) Other activities like face painting and cupcake decorating are also happening during the day and change every week.

There’s also a Kids Club with a team of qualified nannies who can take care of the little ones while you relax for a little while. The Kids Club is located very close to the restaurant and pool, so, it’s very convenient. There’s a different theme each week and kids can explore activities linked to the theme (we had Mermaids and Pirates):

It’s good value for money

I personally think that AED 195 / day for adults and AED 97.50 / day for kids aged 6-11 is a fairly reasonable price for Dubai if you consider that you get beach and pool access for the whole day as well as a delicious brunch. And when you’re a family, that’s something you appreciate 😉

So, for me, the DUKESY Beach Brunch is a great place for a family day out now that the chilly days are supposed to be over 😉
