In many ways, nursing a toddler is so much easier than nursing a newborn. What I still find challenging, however, is not being flexible when it comes to clothing.  Every time I go shopping and see a dress or top I like, my first thought is: Will I be able to wear it when we are out and about and Maëva wants to be fed?

And breastfeeding clothes? I’ve given up on them altogether. I often find them quite unflattering. Maybe due to the fact that they are usually designed for both pregnancy and nursing. Which is great. Cause, let’s be honest, right after you had a baby, your body still looks as if there was a second one coming. But what if you continue nursing and slowly but surely lose some weight, maybe even manage to get your pre-pregnancy body back?

“Then, you should have a look at Mummyista”, Tracy told me a few weeks ago. And smiled.

Tracy is a mum of two, just like me. I recently met her at our weekly Heguru classes. Our kids are about the same age. So, naturally, we started to chat. About this and that. About toddler tantrums. And sibling rivalry. About schools. And the best finger food recipes…

Anyway. Somehow, the topic of nursing in public came up and Tracy told me that she had just set up a new business. Mummyista.

Tracy decided she wanted to change this by bringing a new style of maternity clothing to Dubai. Elegant and suitable to wear to work, an evening out or just out and about. High-quality but without breaking your wallet. Comfortable and functional but not unflattering.

I found this really interesting. Not only because I am a mum blogger. But also because I considered giving breastfeeding tops a second go. IF and only if they really didn’t look like breastfeeding tops…

So, one morning, I met Tracy for coffee and she brought some tops and dresses with her. Overall, they were rather classical. Perfect for work indeed. Exactly my style. I found the fabrics light and really comfortable to wear as well.

That’s when I got quite excited.
